Frederick Fashion Week, In Bloom

Not every floral moment happens down an aisle.

Some unfold on a runway.

We had the opportunity to design florals for Frederick Fashion Week. An experience that sits at the intersection of fashion, art, and community in Frederick. The energy was different from a wedding, but in many ways, the intention was the same: to create an atmosphere that feels immersive, directional, and alive.

Where weddings are often about intimacy and personal narrative, fashion asks something else. It invites a stronger point of view. A willingness to be a little more expressive, a little less restrained.

For this installation, we leaned into that shift.

The design played with contrast. Florals were treated less like décor and more like an extension of the collection itself, existing within the space rather than simply surrounding it.

Designing within a fashion context also creates space to experiment. It allows for a push in scale, to rethink placement, to explore how florals can hold their own alongside bold silhouettes and directional styling.

It’s a reminder that floristry doesn’t have to live in one world.

It can move. It can adapt. It can take on entirely different forms depending on the space it’s in.
