Story Time

We think back to our own wedding, pictured here, at Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park, a lot.

An outdoor ceremony on the dock.

Picture-perfect weather.

Guests greeted by signature cocktails and a cigar bar as they enter cocktail hour.

Touches from our own home brought into the cigar lounge.

A signature bottle of scotch behind the bar for the bride.

A playlist that was to die for.

Dancing late into the night.

Walking through the streets of Fells Point in our wedding attire, cigars in hand, after the wedding.

Taking over the entire bar at Rye.

Doing the flowers for our own wedding, because apparently we couldn't help ourselves.

All of these little touches were meant to showcase our love and bring people into our world.

And then, somewhere along the way, it dawned on us what was actually at the core of all of it.

The people.

The people around us who had been part of our love story.

The musician who played on our first date, became a good friend, and eventually became our wedding musician.

Our extended family in New Hampshire, who brought their cigar bar all the way from Lake Winnipesauke to be part of our wedding.

The owner of the restaurant where we first met.

Friends from entirely different walks of life.

Bandmates from a previous life.

The bartenders who had been part of plenty of nights before this one.

Every single person in that room had, in one way or another, been part of our story.

And that's when it all started to make sense.

All of those little touches.

The flowers. The music. The scotch. The cigars. The playlist.

They were all reflections of us.

But by extension, they were reflections of every single person in the room.

Because who are we without the people who shaped us?

The people who supported us.

The people who watched our relationship grow.

The people who were there long before we ever started planning a wedding.

We spend a lot of time talking about how your wedding should feel like an extension of you.

And we still believe that.

But what better way to extend yourself than through the people in the room who helped support your love story?
